Man United are set to sign Stoke City teenager Nathan Collins at the behest of Darren Fletcher
Man Utd News: Manchester United are looking to sign Stoke City teenager Nathan Collins after being recommended by former midfielder Darren Fletcher.
Collins, 18, progressed through the youth ranks of Cherry Orchard and Potters and broke into the main team of the latter one this season.
The Irish prospect, who plays as a centre-back, has made three appearances in the Championship this season.
He also made considerable appearances for Republic Of Ireland’s U17 side.
How will fit in Solskjaer’s playing 11?
After the Potters failed to make it to the Premier League next season, there are big chances for the Red Devils to persuade Collins to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now set to rebuild his current side after enduring a torrid campaign.
Adding reinforcements to United’s defence is a part of the Norwegian manager’s objective, and Collins would be a great option in doing so.

The Irish teenager is expected to start at the reserves first, given his lack of first-team-experience. The Potters starlet’s chances of breaking into the Red Devils’ main team completely depend on his progress.
Solkjaer’s priority turns out to be adding young guns to the squad as United are closing in to sign Daniel James from Swansea.
