Man United want the services of Polish star Robert Lewandowski
Manchester United have enquired about Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to Daily Mail.
The Polish striker appears to be reluctant in extending his contract with the Bundesliga side, with whom he is tied until 2021.
Lewandowski’s dominance in Germany
The 30-year-old has bagged 45 goals this seasons across all competitions, and he is the current top scorer of Bundesliga.
Despite an early exit from the Champions League, Lewandowski bagged a total of 8 goals and is the third highest goalscorer in the competition.
The former Dortmund star has kept intact his goalscoring ratio over the years and has cemented himself as one of the best strikers of his generation. Unsurprisingly, he has been one of the key members of Niko Kovac’s side this season, who are edging closer towards their 28th Bundesliga title.
United need a quality striker
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming to restore United its former glory after what it proved out to be a calamitous season for him. The Norwegian manager desperately needs a quality striker who can enhance the Red Devils’ attacking index.
Lewandowski carries the desired profile to replace the out-of-favour Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford by all means. The Polish striker’s attributes such as knack of scoring goals, being lethal inside the box, incisive passes, would intimidate the opponent defenders.

He can also form a formidable partnership with Red Devils speedster Marcus Rashford. Furthermore, Lewandowski would be the right sort of guy for a manager like Solskjaer who is hell-bent with attacking style of play.
