Report: Man United are eyeing a move for Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente
According to AS (h/t the Scottish Sun), Manchester United are considering a move for Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
Despite having a contract until 2021, the Spanish midfielder is desperate for a move to the Premier League after falling down the pecking order of Zinedine Zidane.
A youth product of Los Blancos, Llorente was soon promoted to the main team in 2015. Later, he was once again pushed down the ranks, making him a regular for the reserves.
The 24-year-old also had his loan spell with fellow Spanish side Alaves. He has made only 11 appearances in what turned out to be an underwhelming season for Madrid.
Alongside United, Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the Spaniard.
How Llorente will fit in Solskjaer’s side?
More like Madrid, the Red Devils have also endured a tough season with so much of debacles. Ole Gunner Solskjaer, who looked impressive at the start, hasn’t inspired a lacklustre United to the winning ways of late.
With Ander Herrera leaving Old Trafford, the Norwegian manager now looks devoid of options. And for Nemanja Matic, who is nearing his twilight, Llorente would be a worthy successor.
A Central midfielder by trade, the Spaniard can also play several roles in the middle of the park.
