Manchester United eyeing Adrien Rabiot as Pogba replacement
Manchester United are eyeing Adrien Rabiot as Paul Pogba’s replacement, claims L’Equipe (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The PSG midfielder is now available as a free agent with a swarm of clubs competing for his signature.
Falling out with PSG
The French man has been pushed down the ranks after neglecting to renew his contract with PSG.
He hasn’t made a single appearance for the main team since January and has made clear of his intentions to leave the French Capital.
The 24-year-old has played a total of 227 matches for the Ligue 1 side and won 18 major domestic honours.
United need reinforcements
Pogba has been constantly linked with an Old Trafford exit and his preferred destination is said to be Real Madrid.
Furthermore, Ander Herrera is set to leave the club and Solskjaer seems to be running out of options. Given that, the Norwegian manager can bank on Rabiot to enhance the strength of the midfield.
A strong central midfielder by trade, the Frenchman also doesn’t shy away from changing his role as an attacking midfielder, which he had done on a regular basis at PSG.
Being left-footed, the versatile midfielder is known for his agility and precise passing.
These attributes will make him a great addition for the Red Devils and can be deadly alongside Scott McTominay at the middle of the park.
