Solskjaer looking to offload Anthony Martial
Manchester United manager Old Gunner Solskjaer has been left bereft with Anthony Martial, reports Metro.
The French man has made more than 30 appearances, predominantly as a substitute. However, the scoring rate has declined for the ex-Monaco forward, as he bagged only 11 goals and 2 assists this season.
The recurrent injury issues may be a key reason but his lack of improvisation has now made the Norwegian manager unhappy.
Former manager Jose Mourinho had the plans of selling Martial last summer, only to be denied by Ed Woodward in the end.
Since moving to Old Trafford in 2015, the French winger has really endured a fluctuating spell until now. Martial signed a new five-year contract extension earlier this January.
Solsjkjaer has grown weary of Martial’s attitude on the training ground and wants him to be sold this season.
Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Alexis Sanchez have been linked with a possible summer exit and the 23-year-old has now joined the list.
United suffered another frustrating draw against the relegated Huddersfield Town despite getting an early lead from Scott McTominay.
Furthermore, we have now won only one of the last eight games, which ended our top four as well as Champions League hopes.
Post the draw against Huddersfield, Solskjaer hinted that this season could be the last for some players, but denied revealing their names.
