Koulibaly could leave Napoli this summer amidst Man United interest
Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly has established himself as one of Europe’s best defenders in the last couple of years. And that has not stopped him from being high on Manchester United’s shortlist as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to rebuild his squad at Old Trafford. (h/t The Metro)
The Red Devils are destined to finish the current campaign without a trophy after being dumped out of the Champions League by Barcelona earlier this week. Solskjaer is looking to bring in high-quality defensive reinforcements in the summer, with Kalidou Koulibaly a major target.
And United will be delighted after the Senegalese defender refused to rule out a departure from Napoli at the end of this campaign.
“The future? I am a Napoli player and I will give one hundred percent to win something with this shirt,” Koulibaly was quoted by the Metro.
“The market is full of talk. I prefer facts, which then help us win and become great together.”
The Metro claims the United board is willing to back Solskjaer in the transfer market and will provide as much as £100m especially for signing a quality centre-back.
Kalidou Koulibaly is exactly what Manchester United need
Koulibaly is exactly the type of player we need—a strong, powerful, fast, commanding and experienced defender, who is also excellent with the ball at his feet. The Senegal international is a leader at the back and will be an upgrade over all the defenders Solskjaer currently has at his disposal.

But the 27-year-old won’t come cheap, we will need to break the bank for him. And I feel we must do that as it’ll be a statement of intent ahead of the 2019/20 season.
