“He is an absolute force, he’s physically stronger than anybody in that Ajax team.

“If you saw the power he has in an attacking way at corners and set pieces – the way he headed in that second goal which helped Ajax into the semi-final, it was phenomenal.

“You have another Van Dijk coming to the Premier League if you get Matthijs de Ligt.”

De Ligt, 19, is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now. He produced a majestic display as Ajax shocked Juventus to advance to the last four of the Champions League earlier this week. “Manchester United could do with someone,” Brazil added.

De Ligt would be a brilliant signing for the Reds

One of the most sought-after talents in Europe, De Ligt would undoubtedly bolster Manchester United’s defensive ranks. The teenager has the physical qualities as well as technical abilities to thrive in the Premier League.
