Ander Herrera could be the next player to extend his stay at Old Trafford as he negotiates a new contract with Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
The Spaniard would follow the steps of Ashley Young as the Englishman is close to signing a new one-year extension to stay at the club, according to the report. The pair is in the last six months of their current deals at the club and could leave for free at the end of the season.
Herrera has been ever-present in the side under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the Spaniard has looked great alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
The report adds that Herrera wants to extend his stay at the club, and negotiations between the parties are going well.
The 29-year-old has made 17 Premier League appearances for us this season and has a couple of goals and three assists to his name. Although the midfielder isn’t getting any younger, keeping him for another year is a good decision taken by the club.
The Spaniard always gives it his all on the pitch, and the midfield trio of Pogba-Matic-Herrera is doing well under Solskjaer.
