Manchester United face tough competition for the signing of Eder Militao, according to the Sun.
The Porto defender has been in great form since his move from Sao Paulo, and Real Madrid and Liverpool have joined the race for the 20-year-old (h/t Sun).
The report adds that Porto have inserted a £42.5million release clause in the Brazilian’s contract but want to negotiate another deal and increase hike his price.
The 20-year-old is comfortable as a central defender or as a right-back, with United having problems in defence this season.
The Red Devils signed Diogo Dalot from Porto in the summer, however, we could not sign a new central defender in the previous window.
Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof have been preferred as our first-choice pairing, with the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones being inconsistent this season.
It will be interesting to see how the club deals with the January transfer window with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm.
The Norwegian stated that he would share his inputs on any players that United want to sign, but was happy with his current side.
