Manchester United scouted Greek defender Kostas Manolas as AS Roma played Juventus, according to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Mirror).

The 27-year-old has been incredible for the Serie A side since joining them and has a couple of goals for them this season.

The report adds that the United representatives were impressed by the centre-back in the 1-0 loss to the Turin giants. The defender is free to leave in the summer and has a release clause of €36million (h/t Mirror). Manchester United have struggled to keep clean sheets this season, with the club conceding in their previous game.

Cardiff City got one goal in their loss to the Red Devils and we have conceded a staggering 30 goals from 18 Premier League games.

Jose Mourinho was sacked from his job after the Liverpool loss but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned things around in his first game in charge.

The Norwegian will remain the United manager until the end of the season and his main target should be to finish in the top four.

That won’t be easy, with the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool doing well, but we have to invest in the side once the January window opens.

Manolas would be an excellent defender for the club and we need to bring in a quality centre-back given the struggles of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones this season.

United have the money to spend and it is to be seen if we will splash the cash under Solskjaer.
