Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, according to Calciomercato (h/t Express).

The Belgian striker has struggled to score regularly for United this season with just 6 goals from 21 games in all competitions.

Lukaku had a great start to his career under Jose Mourinho but things have not worked out this time around. His place in the starting XI is under doubt and it will be interesting to see if there is any improvement in the 25-year-old with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over until the end of the season.

The report adds that the Turin giants are looking for a long-term replacement for Mario Mandzukic. The former Atletico Madrid striker has been a big hit at the club but is 32-years-old.

Lukaku would not come on the cheap as the report claims he is contracted at United until 2022. The Turin giants are also set to use United’s interest in Brazilian winger Douglas Costa in hopes of landing Lukaku, as per the report.

The Belgian has been in great form for his national side but his performance drops drastically when wearing the red of United.

Lukaku is a great striker when things go well for him and hopefully, Solskjaer gets the best out of him soon. The new manager’s first game in charge went really well with the team winning 5-1 against Cardiff City.

We face tougher challenges in the coming days and Lukaku should soon get a chance to impress after missing out on the previous game.
