Borussia Dortmund and Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji does not like Manchester United’s style under Jose Mourinho.
The 23-year-old has helped the Bundesliga side to the top of the league this season and was linked (h/t Express) with a move to United.
The youngster claimed he is a fan of the club but isn’t looking forward to their games while speaking to WAZ (h/t Express):
“It’s true that from an early age I was a fan of Manchester United.
“But at the moment I’m not really looking at the games because I do not like the way they play under Jose Mourinho.”
The report adds that Mourinho is desperate for a central defender and Akanji had claimed he would move to England one day.
The 23-year-old certainly is a quality defender and we could do with someone who has the potential to get even better.
It is a little surprising that the defender spoke out so openly about not liking the way we play under Mourinho, making it extremely difficult for us to make a move for him.
Our manager hasn’t been able to unlock the potential of the side, and it is a little concerning that we aren’t close to the top four either.

Mourinho has to bring some quality into the side in the winter window, and hopefully, can turn the side’s performances around.
