Manchester United are interested in 20-year-old Brazilian defender Eder Militao, according to the Daily Record (h/t Sun).

The Brazilian has 26 games to his name this season and has played as a central defender and a right-back.

The youngster joined Porto from Brazilian side Sao Paulo and also made an appearance for the national side in a friendly.

The report adds that Everton were interested in the 20-year-old during the summer but United are in line to beat the Toffees for Militao’s signature.

The Porto defender is one of the players on our transfer list for the winter window, as per the report, and is seen as a cheaper alternative to some of the club’s other targets.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Ajax youngster Matthijs de Ligt are two players linked with the club (h/t Sun).

However, neither of them would come on the cheap and United might have to act fast as Victor Lindelof recently picked up an injury.

The Swede has been preferred at the back with Chris Smalling but United have struggled to keep goals out in the Premier League.

We are 7th in the standings and have conceded 21 goals from just 13 games. Mourinho couldn’t sign a defender in the summer, and hopefully, that will change once the January window opens.

Militao could be a cheaper option than some of our other transfer targets and maybe we can use our relationship with Porto and sign him as we did while signing Diogo Dalot.
