Marko Arnautovic has been brilliant for West Ham this season and recently claimed he wants to play with “the best players”.
The Austrian was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer (h/t Mirror) but a deal was not finalized.
The report adds that we are the favourites to sign the 29-year-old, as Jose Mourinho could be tempted into moving for the West Ham star due to Alexis Sanchez’s lack of impact.
Betfair (h/t Mirror) add that United are leading 7/4 to sign the Austrian while Chelsea are second on 11/4. Tottenham are third at 8/1 while Liverpool are 10/1 and Inter Milan in the running at 12/1.
Arnautovic told Austrian paper Kurier (h/t Mirror):
“It’s clear that I want to compete with the best players. But in this affair I totally trust my brother.”
The former Stoke City player’s agent, Danijel, believes Marko could get better playing for a top club too (h/t Mirror).
“He’s a big part of West Ham’s team but I think it’s possible to tease out more of him. For that to happen, he has to play for a top team. Marko is ready for the next step. A player like him should not play against relegation. He should play for the international spots.”
Arnautovic’s agent added that he enjoys playing for the Hammers, and loves the fans and the club, but this isn’t the end of the road for the attacker.
The striker is great on some days and goes missing on others but it will be interesting to see if we move for him in the winter window.

Romelu Lukaku and Sanchez haven’t been great for us this season and maybe a new face in the side could spark our attack.
