Alexis Sanchez’s massive wages at Manchester United is a stumbling block for the club as they try to extend David de Gea’s stay at Old Trafford, according to the Mirror.

The report claims that Sanchez earns £400,000-a-week and makes an additional £75,000 per appearance in his current deal at United.

The Spanish keeper is a free agent at the end of the season, but United have an option to extend his current deal by a year, according to the report.

The 27-year-old earns £175,000-a-week and was expected to sign a new deal at the club, as per the report. A deal worth £300,000-a-week is not “unrealistic” for the Spanish as the keeper is possibly the best keeper in the world.

The report adds that Juventus are keeping an eye on the situation between De Gea and United. The Premier League club could lose out on De Gea on a free at the end of next season, even if they extend his stay by another year.

The 27-year-old is certainly the best player we have at United and was brilliant in our 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Losing the Spaniard on a free would be a huge error from the United, and more importantly, replacing the former Atletico Madrid man would be nearly impossible.

We should do everything in our power to keep him at United, even if it means we have to pay him a bucket-load.
