Manchester United have told their match-day ambassadors not to criticize Jose Mourinho, as per the Mirror.
United haven’t had the greatest of seasons and needed a late winner against Newcastle prior to the international break.
The report adds that there was speculation about Mourinho’s future after the season start, and the club is sensitive about negative feedback from within the club.
Club officials have told former stars that meet fans in the hospitality areas at Old Trafford to not publicly criticize the manager, as per the report.
Players such as Park Ji-sung, Gary Pallister, Dwight Yorke, Denis Irwin, Bryan Robson and Andy Cole service the hospitality areas, as per the report.
The players were sent a code of conduct letter at the start of the season and the report adds the match-day ambassadors are to provide constructive criticism of the players and manager.
Mourinho has been under pressure since the start of the season but the last two results should provide some reprieve to the manager.
