Gabriele Marcotti does not believe Jose Mourinho would replace Niko Kovac at Bayern Munich. The Germans champions haven’t made a good star under the reign of Kovac, however, should he be sacked, Mourinho won’t be the man to replace him.

The Daily Star quoted Marcotti as saying:

“I don’t think Mourinho’s going to become the Bayern manager in the near future.

“I think if his time at United ends badly, and right now it’s more likely that it will rather than it won’t, I think he’s going to have to take an intermediate job before he comes back and takes a really big job.

“I think he’s burned too many bridges.”

Bayern are lying sixth in the league table and have lost two out of their opening seven games this season.

Mourinho, for his part, has seen Manchester United struggle to string victories. The Red Devils lie eighth in the table and have already lost three league games this season.

Zinedine Zidane has been linked (h/t Sun) with the United job should the Portuguese get the sack. The Red Devils face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after the international break. It will be an exciting game to watch.
