Nemanja Matic has returned to Manchester United and will not participate for Serbia’s upcoming games during the international break.
A release from the club claimed that the 30-year-old has an injury which has ruled him out of the games against Montenegro and Romania.
Matic joined his national team after we dramatically beat Newcastle 3-2. However, the report claims that the midfielder has returned to the AON complex for further treatment.
Our next game is against Chelsea in the Premier League and the club are yet to confirm if Matic will be fit for that clash.
“It remains to be seen if Nemanja will be available for our big Premier League game against his former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where he had two separate spells as a player under Jose Mourinho.”
The Serbian is the second player to have pulled out from the upcoming international games. Luke Shaw was expected to play for England in their matches against Spain and Croatia. However, the left-back also has a problem and is recovering in Manchester.
The game against Chelsea will be important for us and we need to be at our best against the Premier League leaders.

Shaw and Matic should start against the Blues if they regain fitness and it will be interesting to keep an eye on their rehabilitation in the coming weeks.
