With the 2018/19 season almost halfway through, Celtic fans are upset with their home kit, which was unveiled at a special launch event.
Bhoys skippers Scott Brown led team-mates Leigh Griffiths, Kieran Tierney, Moussa Dembele, and Celtic Ladies captain Kelly Clark in modelling duties for the new strip.
It keeps faith with the club’s traditional green and white hoops, carrying the design through to the socks. White shorts finish off the design from New Balance, with lead sponsor dafabet seeing their logo front and centre of the shirt.
Speaking to the media at the event, Brown said, “That moment when you first try on the new kit is always really exciting. Everything from the design to the inspiration behind the kit is absolutely spot on this year.”
The green and white hoops were first worn 115 years ago, but this the first time in 17 seasons that the hoops across the shirt body and sleeves haven’t matched.
“For more than 10 years I have had the honour of pulling on the famous Celtic jersey,” Brown continued. “As a Celtic fan and player, I can’t wait to play in this new kit and see how it goes down with our supporters.”
Well, it got a mixed reaction at best. Some used the opportunity to poke fun at Rangers while still giving a thumbs up to the design
Not too bad. Sleeves not a problem for me, hoops largely intact. Don’t like the collar much though. Like the bold single ⭐ It’s cool that great clubs use a single ⭐ for a shared purpose. Not making shit up like some. What was it? One for each £10M they stole from taxpayers?

Others were less enthusiastic about the sleeves…

…while others just hated them…
Sleeves are a mess.

…while the most damning comments are often those which are most innocuous at first…
Sorry, it looks like a yeovil town strip with a celtic badge👎

…and some just wanted their rhetorical questions answered!
The advert is a lot better than the top.
