Frenkie de Jong’s agent Ali Dursun hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Manchester United making a move for the 21-year-old.
De Telegraaf (h/t Express) claims that United have “registered their interest” in the player.
Dursun was asked about interest from the Red Devils and he was quoted saying:
“I can neither confirm nor deny this.
“You should ask Marc Overmars. I send all clubs that contact me over to him.”
The report further claims that Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich are tracking the player. De Jong is valued at around £71.5million (h/t Express) by his club but they are unwilling to sell him in the winter window.
The 21-year-old’s stock has risen in recent months. He even played in the Netherlands’ UEFA Nations League clash against France and impressed.
De Jong is a versatile player who can play as a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder and a centre-back. In fact, he does seem like the next big thing in Dutch football.
The youngster played 22 times in the Eredivisie last season and racked up seven assists.

The report adds that Ajax will allow the starlet to join a “European giant” next summer. It will be interesting to see which team bids the highest for the player and eventually gets him.
