Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves is wanted by Manchester United, according to the Mirror. The Portuguese midfielder joined the Wolves last year and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League.
The youngster has been in decent form this campaign and the Times (h/t Mirror) claims that Wolves want £110m for the player. The 21-year-old was signed for a fee of £14.4m (h/t Mirror) from Porto 18 months ago.
The report adds that United and Manchester City will make bids for the midfielder in the January window. City have made a great start to the season as they sit second, two points behind Liverpool. United, on the other hand, have struggled for form and were held to a draw in their last game.
Neves played the entire 90 minutes in that 1-1 draw against United and has a goal and an assist to his name this season.
The 21-year-old has a lot of potential and could get better under the right manager. The report adds that although Wolves would not want to sell their star, the player’s agent Jorge Mendes might have different ideas.
United have a number of midfield options at the moment and it will be interesting if we do move for the player in the winter window.

Spending £110m on Neves might seem a little excessive but the midfielder could become one of the best in the world.
