Manchester United eyeing move for 21-year-old Brazilian star with €50m release clause

Lucas Paqueta

Le10 Sport (h/t Metro) claims that Manchester United have started negotiations to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

The 21-year-old plays for Flamengo and is a real talent at a tender age.

Paqueta is regarded as one of the brightest creative midfielders in Brazil. A number of clubs are interested in his services.

The report claims that Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Barcelona are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old. The player has a release clause of €50million, however, a deal could be completed for a fee around €40million.

The Brazilian’s predominant position is at attacking midfield, though he is comfortable playing across positions in central areas of the pitch.

Not only he can create chances with the ball at his feet, but Paqueta also has a good defensive awareness to help the team.

United didn’t sign any attacking player this summer and we could do with a new creative midfielder in our squad.

With the likes of Paul Pogba and Fred playing alongside Paqueta, we could have a great trio in the midfield.

Jose Mourinho has a number of options in the midfield right now but not many are creative gems. Should Paqueta join, he would add cutting-edge and creative spark to the team.
