“He never told me he wants to leave” – Jose Mourinho rubbishes rumours of star player moving to Spain

The Express claims that Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Barcelona but Jose Mourinho has come out and refuted claims of the World Cup winner leaving.

Pogba has failed to find his form since joining from Juventus and the Manchester Evening News (h/t Express) adds that a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona has been promised by the Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola.

Mourinho was questioned about this issue and the United manager said (h/t Express):

“I don’t know if that is true.

“I also need the agent to tell me – or tell you in a way that I can see.

“If I watch Mr Raiola on the screen saying the players wants to leave, and that he is organising a way for him to try to leave or so on, then I will believe.”

Mourinho further claimed that Pogba has not spoken about wanting to leave United.

“Paul came back after the World Cup. He never told me he wants to leave. If he doesn’t tell me he wants to leave, it’s because he wants to stay. That’s my conclusion, no?”

The Frenchman is one of the best players in our squad but he just doesn’t seem to produce quality performances for United regularly.

Selling him is the easy way out and we could get a huge amount for the former Juventus man. However, Mourinho and the player have to work it out as we shouldn’t think about losing a superstar who could lead us to success in the coming years.
