The Mirror reports that Zinedine Zidane has drawn a list of players he would like to sign, should Manchester United hire him.
The report adds that the former Real Madrid manager has told friends he expects a call from Old Trafford soon enough.
The Red Devils haven’t looked great under Jose Mourinho but the report adds that Ed Woodward has insisted the club are backing the Portuguese manager. However, Zidane has been kept as a standby, if things change.
Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Thiago Alcantara and Edinson Cavani make the list, as per the Mirror. The report further adds that Zidane wants to test waters in the Premier League and United could complete his dream.
Zidane left Real after winning three consecutive Champions League titles and is a free agent, for the moment.
United have one of the best managers in the world but Mourinho hasn’t been able to get the best out of his current crop of players.
Swapping managers now could be a huge risk, given that Zidane cannot sign players till the January window. However, the Frenchman could use some of his links and raid Madrid.
Getting the players on the list could turn our side around and restore our former glory.
