Herrera out, Sanchez starts: Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United XI to face Burnley

Luke Shaw

Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United must get back to winning ways after two consecutive losses. The 3-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur placed us far behind the table-toppers and our next clash is against Burnley.

Jose Mourinho fielded a different formation against Tottenham but we should revert to our 4-3-3 against Sean Dyche’s men.

There could be a few changes in our starting XI and here is our predicted team for the game.

Predicted Manchester United XI

Manager: Jose Mourinho

Formation: 4-3-3

David de Gea (GK)

The Spaniard will start unless something out of the ordinary happens. De Gea has been decent in our games but he must record his first clean sheet of the season against the Clarets.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw has been one of our best players this season and he should keep his spot in the game against Burnley.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Our defence has been below par this season and it is tough to predict which central defensive pairing will do well. Smalling might get the nod, given that Phil Jones has a slight hamstring issue.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

The choice between Eric Bailly and Lindelof was never going to be easy but the Swede should partner Smalling.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

Valencia started our game against Spurs and the Ecuadorian must retain his spot ahead of this clash.

Fred (CM)

The Brazilian has had a tough start to his career at United but this could be the game where he shows his ability to the supporters.

Nemanja Matic (CM)

Matic must be at his best and his presence in our midfield should break up the play for Burnley on Sunday.

Paul Pogba (CM)

One of the keys to winning the game, Pogba has to play better and a goal should provide him with a much-needed confidence boost.

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

The Chilean didn’t start our game against Tottenham but he should get the nod to start at Turf Moor.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

The Belgian had a great chance to score against Spurs but shot wide. Lukaku has to be at his best if we are to pick up the three points.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

Lingard had his moments in our last game and should keep his place in the starting XI for this important clash.
