Jose Mourinho has made a plea to Ed Woodward regarding the sale of Anthony Martial as per the Daily Star. Mourinho believes Martial is not good enough for the club and wants to sell him before the end of the European transfer window ends.
The United manager wants to raise funds for signings in January and is willing to let Martial join the highest bidder. However, Woodward is not willing to let the Frenchman leave on the cheap and sees him as a long-term investment, as per the Daily Star.
Martial started in our loss to Brighton and Hove Albion but was taken off after just an hour. The Frenchman struggled to perform against Brighton and had been linked with a move away from the club (h/t Daily Star).
The report adds that the relationship between Woodward and Mourinho is not great as the manager believes the Portuguese tactician was let down with the lack of signings in the summer.
Woodward was unwilling to spend huge on players such as Ivan Perisic, Harry Maguire, Yerry Mina and Toby Alderweireld as per the report.
We signed three players in the summer but did not bring in a central defender. Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof struggled in our loss to Brighton but most of the players were below par at the Amex Stadium.

A new centre-back could have been the answer for our poor defence at the Amex but our attack wasn’t great in the loss either.
