Jose Mourinho has stated that he is not confident of bringing fresh faces into Manchester United as transfer deadline day looms.
Mourinho was speaking in the press conference prior to the first game of the season against Leicester City and was quoted by the ESPN as saying,
“I am not confident,”
“The market closes today. It is time for me to stop thinking about the market because the market will be closed.
“I focus on the players I have for the first couple of matches.”
Mourinho was also asked if there would be any ins or outs at Old Trafford today and the Portuguese manager claimed that based on the information he had, there would not be any activity.
ESPN also added that United were pursuing a number of players on Wednesday. However, moves for Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire came to nought as the players are deemed too expensive.
The report also claimed that a loan move for Jerome Boateng was also rejected by Bayern Munich. There could be a bit of an injury crisis at Old Trafford too, as the boss mentioned six players who are out with an injury ahead of the clash against Leicester City.
Antonio Valencia, Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic are all out due to various injuries.
If we are to begin the season with only three new players coming in and a raft of injuries, chances of a flying start to the campaign seem almost impossible.

United would need some magic from Mourinho in the coming weeks and hopefully, the manager pulls something out of the bag to win three points against the Foxes.
