The Metro reports that Ander Herrera could sign a new contract at Manchester United as he has been hunting a house in Cheshire.

The Spaniard was one of the few senior players on tour with the club in the United States and has entered the final 12 months of his current contract.

However, the Metro reports that the club isn’t alarmed by the situation and expect negotiations over a new deal to be easy, as the midfielder is happy at the club.

Herrera did score a goal in the 2-1 win over Real Madrid in Miami and he was quoted by the Metro as saying he wants to remain at Old Trafford.

“I love the fans. I am playing for the best team in the UK so my first intention is to stay in the club because I love what I do and I love where I am.”

Herrera had joined the Red Devils in 2014 from Athletic Bilbao for a fee worth £29m. The midfielder was the first incoming transfer under former manager Louis van Gaal.

The Metro claim that Herrera will be starting our Premier League opener against Leicester City as he is one of the few senior players who has a complete pre-season under his belt.

A number of our stars were unable to take a full part in pre-season due to their breaks after the World Cup. However, Herrera would be looking to start the season with a bang against the Foxes.
