Manchester United have made a formal approach to sign Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, according to Sky Sports (h/t Express).
The English defender was one of the top players in the World Cup for the Three Lions and the report claims that the 25-year-old is keen on making the move to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho has already signed three players in the summer but is reportedly on the lookout for two more players – a central defender and a forward.
There is one more problem when it comes to signing Maguire and that is his price point. Leicester are not willing to sell their star defender and Maguire is valued at close to £65m.
The report also adds that Maguire is on holiday after his exploits in the World Cup and is hopeful of a move to the Red Devils before the start of the season.
Maguire would be a great addition to the side and would easily replace the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. The former Hull City defender only joined Leicester at the start of last season and they would want a premium on the player.
Mourinho certainly has his work cut out if he is looking to win the Premier League from Manchester City. Not only has Guardiola signed Riyad Mahrez for the Sky Blues but Liverpool have spent a lot of money on bolstering their side too.
