Graeme Souness has claimed that Manchester United would be a much better side with Ivan Perisic in the team while writing for the Times (h/t Express).
The former Liverpool man also wrote that he understood why Jose Mourinho wanted to sign the Croatian midfielder up for United.
“Manchester United would be a much improved side with him in their line-up.
“With his contribution against England when he scored one and had an assist, Perisic has now been involved in 10 goals at major tournaments for Croatia (six goals, four assists).
“That tells you plenty about his pedigree.”
Perisic also had a big role to play in the World Cup final as he scored a goal for Croatia to level the tie at 1-1 against France.
However, the Inter man was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty box which allowed Antoine Griezmann to score France’s second goal, something that Croatia could not recover from.
While the Croatians ended up losing the final 4-2, Perisic was one of their stars as he scored 3 goals and provided an assist for the runners-up in the tournament.
The 29-year-old scored 11 times and provided 9 assists for the Serie A side in the league last season and Mourinho has heaped praise on the player by claiming he is different from other wingers due to his physicality.
United do need to bring more options for their attack this season and getting Perisic would be a great deal, even if he is 29 at the moment.

Inter will have a bit of an advantage given how impressive the Croatian has been at the World Cup but if Mourinho wants Perisic at Old Trafford, it would be difficult not seeing the Croat in the Red of United this season.
