Done deal: Man United confirm double deal for two promising young starlets – players to train with U23s

Manchester United announced the signing of two young players. Releases by the club confirmed that Zak Dearnley would be preparing for the U23 squad under Ricky Sbragia.

The other player to have signed a deal with the Red Devils is Callum Whelan, who will also be looking to do well under Sbragia.

The club gave more details about the players as Dearnley, a 19-year-old, made 19 appearances for the U23 side last season, scoring once for the side.

Whelan, who is a midfielder, made 9 appearances last season and the 19-year-old will also be looking to get more playing time this season.

The pair is with the U23 side in Austria as a part of a training camp and they will face local opposition too. Both players have a lot of history on their side when it comes to winning trophies as they have picked up silverware in a number of tournaments for the Red Devils.

The pair will be looking to make a real impact for the U23 side this season and hopefully, break into the first-team and get a few games under their belt next season.

Jose Mourinho would be pleased with the work being done with the young players and will expect some of them to perform brightly and play for the Red Devils in the cup games before becoming regulars in the main squad.
