Jose Mourinho has told Ed Woodward that he still wants a couple of priority signings before the end of the window as reported by the Times (h/t Metro).

The Manchester United manager has told our vice-chairman that a new centre-back and a left-back are required at the club.

We have had our issues with the left-back slot for a while as Ashley Young will turn 33 next month. The Englishman cannot be a long-term solution for the team.

Luke Shaw is another left-back on the books but it is highly unlikely Mourinho will have faith in the 22-year-old. Jose would even sell him if we receive the right bid.

For the centre-back spot, we have been looking at Toby Alderweireld but Tottenham have made it tough for us to get him and no deal can be finalised with Spurs until the end of the World Cup.

Alex Sandro had been linked with a move to United from Juventus but he might not be willing to move in the summer. There is still some interest in Gareth Bale of Real Madrid, however, it would be difficult to complete a deal for the Welshman. Mourinho does need to spend a bit more if we are to catch Manchester City next season.

We have already signed Fred and Diogo Dalot but there should be a few more players coming into the side, possibly attackers too, before the start of the season.
