Anthony Martial’s agent’s comments that the Frenchman would be leaving Manchester United has certainly got the United fans in a tizzy.
The French attacker, who is not part of the World Cup squad, has been linked with Tottenham in recent weeks after finding playing time become limited due to the signing of Alexis Sanchez.
Martial’s agent was quoted by RMC Sport (h/t BBC) as saying:
“After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United. There are lots of factors, and right now it’s too early to talk about them.”
This comes as a huge blow to United as Martial is one of the brightest players in world football and we only signed him in 2015 for a fee of £36m. Losing him after just three seasons is a bit of a letdown.
Many United fans were rightfully upset with this latest news in the Martial transfer saga and they shared their opinion on the same via Twitter.
Anthony Martial is one of those players who makes you quicken your step when you approach a stadium: offering pace, flair and wonderful goals. Just the sort of player this often unimaginative #MUFC side can ill afford to lose this summer

Feel worse about Martial leaving this morning than I did last night….what a mess

I’m not a “Martial fanboy” as many people call Utd fans that like Martial.
I just don’t enjoy shit boring stoke city football. So I would prefer martial over Jose any day.

Mourinho is the one to be blamed if a boy leave united.., he don’t believe in young players

Letting martial leave would be a huge mistake by #mufc…. will be back to haunt us in the future… Huge talent but need someone like Sir Alex to bring his talent out of shadow

Martial leaving.
De Gea subject to £100M bid.
Pogba rumours.A season to look forward to, with Ashley Young playing every game at left back at the age of 33 & Fellaini getting a new contract at the 11th hour.
What a summer that would be! What. A. Summer.

Martial really scored 11 goals in 5 months then watched a man come in, take his place, score 2 goals in 5 months whilst earning 500k a week. He got abused

We all know that José won’t be here in a years time. I pray that Martial can see that and decides to stay for one more season. Then, we’ll employ an attacking minded manager that Martial would flourish under.

Martial, what a player. This will bite us on the arse.

Let’s not dress it up. Martial wants to leave because of Mourinho and whatever anyone thinks about that. United selling a 22 year old with the potential to be a world beater is arguably one of the most un United things we’ve ever done. Mourinho basically has to win the league now

Just what does Mourinho bring to the club? He’s been destroying our identity, one boring fucking defensive performance at a time. He stifles our young talent; Rashford, Shaw, and Martial all have bags full of potential. Yet, he treats them like washed up players. #MourinhoOut
— Terence Burns (@terry_burns85) June 13, 2018
Mourinho basically has to leave the only way I will be happy is if he changes his tactics if we play shit like the past two seasons and win the league or champions league I will still want him gone
