Borussia Dortmund could make a transfer move for Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial, to replace Erling Haaland.

Tottenham will ask Manchester United to include Anthony Martial in any deal that involves Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld, according to .

The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino is ready to let go of the central defender after an injury-plagued season but the club will try to get as much as they can for the 29-year-old valued at more than £70m.

There have been long negotiations to ensure that Alderweireld remains at the club but his wages have been an issue as Spurs do not want to pay more than £110,000 per week while Alderweireld wants £150,000 per week. Thanks to Tottenham’s inability to offer more wages to the Belgian,  have increased in recent times in favour of Jose Mourinho finally landing his man.

Should they not be able to sell him this season, the defender can move for a fee of £22m next summer due to a release clause in his contract.

Pochettino, according to the report, also added that he prefers Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen as his preferred central defensive partnership and would be ready to let go of Alderweireld.

However, the Argentine is a fan of the Manchester United attacker, Martial and believes he can turn things around for the Frenchman who has struggled to perform under Jose Mourinho.

Martial only started 18 Premier League games under the United boss and managed a paltry 12 goals from 45 games. The 22-year-old moved to United from Monaco for a fee that could rise up to £58m but Mourinho does not seem to be getting the best out of the attacker.

Alderweireld didn’t have the greatest season either, due to his injury issues. The Belgian only played 21 games in all competitions for us and had just 13 Premier League starts to his name.

It will be interesting to see just how we deal with Alderweireld regarding his contract issue and the fact that some clubs are looking to sign the Belgian defender.

Bringing in Martial would certainly give us one of the most exciting youngsters in European football and we know that Pochettino will be able to extract the most out of him and make him better too.

Hopefully, we can land the right players for the team and make a real challenge for the Premier League title after finishing third this time around.
