Manchester United could be back in the race to sign Antoine Griezmann according to reports from Don Balon (h/t The Express).
The French attacker was linked with a move to Old Trafford at the start of last season but decided to stay at Atletico Madrid as they picked up the Europa League at the end of the season.
The French forward was then linked with a big-money move to Barcelona but the report from Don Balon (h/t Express) claims that Jose Mourinho is doing all he can to bring the 27-year-old to Old Trafford and will offer him a starring role in the attack, despite us having the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
The former Real Sociedad man also added fuel to the fire about his future and stated that all the transfer negotiations and talk about his future will be completed before the start of the World Cup which takes place in less than a couple of weeks.
As quoted by Daily Star, the 27-year-old said: “Yes, it will be done before the competition”.
Griezmann was in action as France easily dispatched Italy 3-1 in a pre-World Cup friendly and Les Bleus are expected to go all the way given their squad depth and strength.
Hopefully, one of our players might have a word or two with Griezmann regarding his future as we already have Paul Pogba doing his bit for us under Mourinho.
The former Juventus man might be able to persuade Griezmann to reject the Nou Camp for Old Trafford and bringing in the French attacker would be a major coup for us given that we need to battle Manchester City next season.
The Cityzens won the Premier League with a 19-point gap and that is something which cannot take place next season. Mourinho will know that most fans expect us to win the Premier League title and do better in the Champions League too.
Last season, we were knocked out by Sevilla and with Griezmann on our side, we might just have the right player to take us to the next level.
