Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has delivered the words of the verdict, yet again! He has sent a direct message to the Manchester United hierarchy, stating that they got Paul for a cheaper price; ‘€100 million cheaper’ he says.
Pogba joined Manchester United back in 2016 for a then world record £89m fee from Juventus and despite early promise, his future has been put under heavy scrutiny because he has been dropped multiple times to the bench since the turn of the year. Despite being one of the highest earners at the club at £290,000-a-week, Pogba’s role has been reduced to the bench by Mourinho in recent weeks and this has only added fuel to his exit rumours.
A move to Real Madrid, which Pogba had rejected before joining Manchester United, has been put on the table by a number of news outlets but it remains to be seen whether Mourinho would sanction a sale or not.
However, in the midst of all the hustle, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has said that United had acquired Pogba at a bargain rate simply because the midfielder himself wanted to move back to the Premier League rather than joining Real Madrid.
“I think Manchester United would have paid 200 million Euros for him,” the super agent told Dutch magazine Quote, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
“Pogba was a cheap player because he had included in his contract with Juventus that we were allowed to determine where he wanted to go, and not the club.
“The player always remains in control. He might have been able to go to Real Madrid for 200 million Euros. Manchester United may have saved 100 million on Pogba.”
Pogba has been getting overlooked by Mourinho since the turn of the year and if it stays the same for at least until the end of the season, Raiola might very well have to intercede by the end of the season to find a perfect solution for his client, which would, in my opinion, be a disaster for us!
