David De Gea asks Jose Mourinho to let him leave after agreeing to personal terms with Real Madrid
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has told Jose Mourinho that he wants to leave and wants his next destination to be Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid.
As per a report from Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Real Madrid’s main man Florentino Pérez has made a list of players who will be departing the Santiago Bernabeu by the end of the season. And the first and foremost name is of their Costa Rican stopper, Keylor Navas. Perez has never esteemed Navas and the same report has claimed that he has time and again looked for a possibility of pushing the Costa Rican out of the club.
That one time when Perez came close to signing De Gea, the transfer was abandoned by a failure in Manchester United’s fax machine. As per an earlier report from Express, Real Madrid were considering a swap deal that would have seen Navas moving to Old Trafford. But Louis van Gaal’s erudition in the dealing saw the Spaniard staying put in England while Real were left red-faced.
Their current keeper Navas is contracted with Real until 2020 and at his age, it is safe to say he’d be more than happy to play second fiddle to whosoever comes to Madrid. But if Real are actually keen on signing a new goalkeeper, let alone De Gea, they will need to offer Navas as a part of the swap deal.
As things stand for the Spanish shot-stopper, the report from Diario Gol has also stated that he has already informed Jose Mourinho about his desire to leave and join Real Madrid. Convincing De Gea won’t be a difficult task for Real but it is Mourinho who carries the final thread.
Real somehow need to find a way to convince Mourinho to release De Gea. The 27-year-old would obviously be an upgrade to what Real have right now, but it remains to be seen whether Mourinho would actually sanction a sale or not.
ROFLMAO. DIaro Gol and the Express! You’d be more credible if you name checked North Korean TV!
