Steve McManaman backs Cristiano Ronaldo to call it quits at Manchester United in 2023.

According to Spanish source Diario Gol, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has informed club president Florentino Perez that they need to sign five new players during the summer and these players hail from clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Los Blancos are likely to undergo a major squad revolution during the summer as their defence of the La Liga title and Champions League has so far been underwhelming and they are currently 15 points adrift of Barcelona on the Spanish top flight standings.

The club is expected to undergo a major shake-up during the summer which is expected to include the departures of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Mateo Kovacic. The pressure is even on manager Zinedine Zidane and it will be very hard to see the French and Real Madrid football legend keeping his job beyond this season unless Madrid win the Champions League.

The 33-year-old reportedly wants David de Gea to be a priority target for this summer, while the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Marquinhos, Hector Bellerin, David Alaba, Goncalo Guedes and Mohamed Salah are also on his wishlist.

Madrid do stand a good chance of advancing to the last eight of Europe’s Premier club competition after they managed to defeat French giants PSG 3-1 during the first leg of their last 16 clash with Ronaldo scoring twice.

Meanwhile, the chances are looking strong that Chelsea star Eden Hazard will be one of the players who does end up joining Madrid next season. The 27-year-old Belgian is reportedly stalling over a new deal with the Blues in order to push through a move to the Spanish giants.

In addition to this, Chelsea are currently in fifth position on the Premier League standings and five points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham following their 1-0 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday. If Antonio Conte’s side do fail to qualify for next seasons Champions League, it will be very difficult to see Hazard staying on with the club.

Madrid are renowned for forking out massive sums of money to sign the world’s best talent and though they will not succeed in signing all of their targets, it is likely that they will sign some, if not the majority of them.
