Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reportedly made his mind to move away from Old Trafford as he thinks his long-term future is under heavy scrutiny now that Alexis Sanchez has arrived.

Martial, 22, has only made 15 Premier League starts this season and has played full 90 minutes on just three occasions. This has seen him get second thoughts about his future with the club and if reports are to be believed, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur could well and truly be his new home.

According to RMC Sport, Martial who joined Manchester United back in September 2015, has a contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2019. Upon his arrival, the Frenchman signed a four-year contract with the club having an option of extending it by another year.

The aforementioned source quotes that Martial’s representatives met the United hierarchy back in December to discuss the possibilities of getting a new contract and by the time, it was concluded that the club would send an offer of an extension. But nothing noteworthy has been received by the attacker till date. All this, coupled with the lack of game time and Alexis Sanchez taking his place, have started becoming a thing of concern for the Frenchman.

Martial was believed to be searching for a new house in Manchester but after all these issues, he has decided to interrupt the process. Furthermore, as far as the potential buyers are concerned, RMC Sport has added that the likes of Inter Milan and Tottenham are tracking his progress. Real Madrid are being credited with an interest too but they will only provoke an engrossment if Gareth Bale is sold over the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has long been searching a backup striker for Harry Kane. They signed Janssen before and Llorente last summer. Both strikers have failed to perform for the Lilywhites and Tottenham would be a good destination for Martial to consider if he wishes to play football without winning trophies.

That being said, it is safe to say that Tottenham would love to have someone as talented as Martial in their ranks, hence there lies the slightest possibility of this move happening.
