David de Gea is once again being linked with a move to Real Madrid but Jose Mourinho has laid down a statement by asking for a cash and player swap deal to allow the Spaniard keeper to move to the Spanish capital.
The Daily Star carries a report from Don Balon which claims that players such as Isco, Raphael Varane, Toni Kroos and Marco Asensio are the stars that our manager wants to bring from Real.
The report also claims that we have already sent out the list to Real president Florentino Perez and Mourinho. However, Mourinho rubbished claims about De Gea’s departure after the 1-0 loss to Newcastle.
“Do you think a club that is trying to attract the best players is the club that is open to sell the best players? It makes no sense.
“If you want to go to that level, we have to attract the best players like we did with Alexis [Sanchez], [Nemanja] Matic, [Paul] Pogba and so on, and don’t let our best players go.”
It should come as no surprise that Real are looking to unsettle De Gea, once again. The club have been trying to sign the former Atletico Madrid man for a number of years but have failed in their attempts so far.
What might work in their favour this time is the rumour that De Gea wants to move to the Spanish capital and will be pushing for the transfer to take place during the summer. We might end up getting Kroos, who has been linked with a switch to Mourinho’s side for a season or two as well. There will be a lot of competition for the German midfielder as Manchester City are looking to sign him up.
An Overhaul At Real Coming Up
Real have been struggling to catch Barcelona this season and this can be seen as the first step in a major overhaul of the playing staff at the club. Zinedine Zidane’s future at the club is also in doubt and he could be sacked, even if he retains the Champions League title.
De Gea could move to Spain sooner or later and it should come as no surprise that he is being linked with a move to Real. The Spaniard has been brilliant for us this season as he has 18 clean sheets in all competitions. He is basically the best keeper in the world.
That should allow us to ask for any price we want and we can be sure that Mourinho will not let De Gea leave unless we get the right player from Real. The summer will be interesting as to how we deal with the transfer of players and hopefully, we can come out on top in this player exchange deal.
