Manchester United Transfer Round-up: Red Devil’s Handed Massive Boost In £170m Transfer And Other Updates

Harry Kane

Manchester United could have got a huge boost in their pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane as reports indicate that Real Madrid may move out of the race.

The Daily Star indicates that the Spanish Champions may not be willing to match the potential £170m offer from the Red Devils for the England international striker.

There was speculation earlier this week that manager Jose Mourinho was interested in luring the 24-year-old hot shot to Old Trafford.

That news was preceded by news in the Spanish media that spoke about Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez’s admiration for the striker. He was reportedly interested in making Kane his next ‘Galactico’ and make Zinedine Zidane’s team impregnable.

However, with United thinking of making a huge bid, it is now being reported that Real may not be willing to match that price. Isn’t that good news, if United decide to pursue their interest in the goal-hungry striker?

Leander Dendoncker

Another name making rounds is that of Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker’s. The 22-year-old is no stranger to the United fans as he impressed for Anderlecht playing against Manchester United. There were even reports that Mourinho could make a move in the summer, but it didn’t happen.

Latest reports from The Sun now claim that Mourinho has sent scouts to watch the youngster during Anderlecht’s 4-3 win over Mechelen last night. The same report says that Pep Guardiola has sent his scouts for the same match. Will we fight it out for the youngster? We’ll have to wait to find out.

Romelu Lukaku

In other news, Paul Merson spoke about the need for Lukaku to start dominating the games like his compatriot at Tottenham does. Merson believes that Kane picks up big games to show his true worth and Lukaku should do the same.

He wrote on Daily Star: “This is a game when Romelu Lukaku should go and prove all the doubters wrong, all those people saying he can’t do it in big games against big teams.

“This is a big game against a big team. It’s United’s biggest test so far and it’s his big chance to make a statement.

Even though he failed to score against Liverpool, Lukaku’s influence on improving the style of this United team is quite evident. It would be a huge disgrace to discount his goals but Merson has a point that the Belgian needs to deliver in big games or he would be written off like Mesut Ozil.

Just give him some time and I’m sure Lukaku would deliver.
