Manchester United Put On Red Alert As £90million Target Faces Axe From Current Club

Real Madrid’s pursuit of AS Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe has, one way or the other,  given Manchester United a renewed hope of landing their long-term target, Gareth Bale.

Spanish news outlet Marca claims that Zidane has set his sights on the young Frenchman. However, the negotiations between the two clubs have slowed down. But Madrid are still confident that a deal can be struck as they are ready to pay a hefty price for the 18-year-old.

All this has sparked up the ‘Gareth Bale to Manchester United’ rumours. Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has made his stance very clear that he wants a balanced squad, and this is why James Rodriguez was allowed to leave the club.

Gareth Bale, on his part, has been the most vulnerable one in the ‘BBC’ in terms of injuries, hence, a prominent departure can well and truly be expected, should Mbappe indeed arrive at the Bernabeu. Only last month, reports emerged that a meeting between Florentino Perez and Monaco’s officials was held and that the French giants quoted a massive €190million price tag on Mbappe’s head.

Real Madrid, however, asked Monaco to lower the price in range of €150m + €30m add ons or €160 + €20m add ons. Hence, it is quite rightly expected that a deal may be compromised sooner rather than later. Having said that, Real Madrid are willing to let Gareth Bale leave if their €100million asking price is met.

Manchester United’s interest in Gareth Bale is long-lasting. The Welshman was linked with us even when he made his high profile move to Real Madrid back in 2013. Since then, not even a single transfer window has passed where we have not been linked with Bale.

Jose Mourinho has long been stating that he wants at least four signings this summer and has been linked with Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic. The Nerazzurri, however, aren’t willing to let the Croatian leave and this might lead to Manchester United ending their pursuit for the 28-year-old. And this is where Gareth Bale comes into the picture.

Transfers are interesting, and in Zidane’s words, “Until Aug. 31, anything can happen.”
