Manchester United Finally Agree Personal Terms With €70m Forward

published :

According to According to Spanish Radio station Cadena COPE (English Source: IBT), Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, despite struggling to agree a transfer fee with the Spanish club. United have been showing a lot of interest in the 24-year-old forward after signing Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann was ruled out. We have a desperate need for top-quality centre-forwards – especially after letting Zlatan Ibrahimovic leave the club on a free transfer.

Agreeing personal terms with Morata is a major step towards completing the signing, but it is understood that Manchester United and Real Madrid are far apart in terms of coming on a common ground with regard to the valuation of the player. With Real Madrid holding on to their €70m valuation, it may take few more weeks before both the parties come to a common ground regarding the transfer fee.

The 12-time European champions were unable to give Morata much of game time last season. Yet, the forward still came up with a respectable 15 goals while he made only 14 starts in the La Liga last season. Morata is now so keen on securing the first-team football and moving to the Old Trafford may kick-start his career once again.

One of the major deficiencies for Manchester United was scoring goals, as we were unable to convert domination of games into victories. There are too many draws and a player like Morata has the capability to change games with his goals.

What do you guys think? Will signing Morata make us a formidable force both in domestic competitions and in Europe? Post your opinions in the comment section below.
