£78 Million Star May Have Given The Biggest Hint Of Manchester United Move

Manchester United Transfer News

Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata is thought to be convinced about a move to Manchester United that he has provided a major hint on Instagram (Source: Metro). He responded to a fan’s post about his impending move to Old Trafford by ‘liking’ the picture. This is seen as a huge hint that the player might be on the verge of moving to Old Trafford after having grown frustrated with life on the sidelines at Real Madrid. Even though the Spaniard came in with a respectable 20 goals in 43 appearances last season, it was largely as a substitute or appearances in meaningless matches.

Morata came to Real Madrid from Juventus, as the Spanish club managed to exercise a buyback clause in the sale deed a couple of years ago. In his short time at Turin, Morata managed to transform his fortunes in an incredible way. He is now regarded as one of the finest strikers in the La Liga and someone who can lead the line on his own. The 24-year-old has become the primary target for Manchester United after a setback in the Antoine Griezmann saga.

The first offer is reported to be in the region of £52 million – which would represent a healthy profit for Madrid – but Madrid are holding for around £78 million (Source: Metro). The deal could be reached in the middle ground, thus paving way for Morata’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu. United are keen on completing the deal as soon as possible, as there is always the danger of other top clubs entering into the picture.

After releasing Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the end of his contract, United are in great need of new centre-forward. The last-minute decision by Griezmann to stay at the Spanish club has been a major blow, but there are plenty of other targets for United nonetheless.

Apart from going after Morata, United have also been linked with a £75 million move for Torino forward (Source: lastampa; translated source: The Hard Tackle) Andrea Belotti, who ended up as one of the top scorers in the Italian Serie A last season.
