Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann will join Manchester United in 2-3 weeks. Massive news, isn’t it? Manchester United have been linked with the Frenchman for a long time now and it looks like he might be joining the club after all, in just a matter of 2 or 3 weeks. According to James Ducker of the Telegraph, Antoine Griezmann will join United in 2-3 weeks time, before he goes on his honeymoon.
Griezmann has grown into a world-class star since joining Atletico Madrid and has been a real performer for the Spanish side and also the French national team. He carried France to the final of the Euro’16, only to lose to a Portugal side inspired by former Red Devils superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The French attacker has all the attributes and the talent required to sport the reputed No.7 jersey at Old Trafford. The number is now vacant as Memphis Depay, who was previously given the jersey moved out of the club in January. The weight of the number is so much so that a lot of players have struggled to handle the pressure of playing as United’s No.7. Valencia was handed the number as well but he switched back to No.25. Di Maria wore it in his only season as a Manchester United player.

He eventually moved to PSG after just one season at the club. That is when Depay arrived, but unfortunately, he wasn’t the one too.
After all these failures, Griezmann might be the right guy to carry forward the legacy, as he is quickly growing into a legendary player. He isn’t too far away from challenging for the Ballon D’ Or but that will not happen as long as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo continue playing football.
The Ballon D’ Or has been a two-horse race for a long time now and it looks like it will remain the same looking at the way both the Portuguese ace and the Argentine magician are playing. They continue to dominate world football with their skills and are literally unmatchable.
Griezmann would no doubt be a great addition to Manchester United and if Ducker is indeed true, then we’d be welcoming a true superstar to our club in a few weeks time.
