Manchester United Transfer News

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning a £110million raid on Tottenham to sign three English stars from the North London club. Laughing at this piece of news? We did as well when we read it. According to Daily Star, Tottenham are fearing a whopping £110million swoop from Manchester United for their Three Lions – Eric Dier, Kyle Walker, and Danny Rose.

First up, the amount looks okay. Manchester United are easily capable of spending such a huge sum. So no problems with that. The second thing is what that makes us look at this piece of news as a ridiculous one. It is currently near to impossible to convince Tottenham to sell their players in the first place, never mind making them sell to their direct title rivals.

Eric Dier, Kyle Walker, and Danny Rose are integral to Tottenham’s future and they wouldn’t even dream of selling either of those players. Gone are those days when Spurs were a selling club. At least after the kind of season they’ve had, it is hard to imagine them selling their core players. Maybe they would, but that’d be only after a couple of more seasons of failure to win major tropies. As of now, it does look impossible.

The Manchester United board, with all the money at their disposal, can rather target those stars from outside English Premier League. Yes it is a good idea to sign English players but they don’t come at a cheap price, do they? It would rather make sense for United to try and sign those Real Madrid players who have not played as much as they’d have liked to this season.

James Rodriguez is one option and Isco is another. While Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not committed his future to the club and with him possibly being unavailable for a lot of months, Morata would be a great choice as well.

This is by far the most baseless and illogical news so far this season and hopefully, Manchester United are taking the right steps to sign the right kind of players and not chase some unfeasible transfer targets.
