Manchester United Transfer News: £17 Million Speed Merchant Refuses To Train And Goes on Strike

published :

Turkish club Galatasaray are becoming increasingly worried about the future of their star players, as they have refused to train in protest of the Igor Tudor regime. According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the protest has been led by Manchester United target Bruma. The Portuguese winger has been subjected to interest from United ever since Jose Mourinho took over as the manager last summer. It is understood that the Portuguese boss is a huge fan of the player, who is rated at around £ 17 million. However, he will be available for a significantly less fee in the summer considering that his contract runs out in June 2018.

Galatasaray have failed in their attempts to convince the player to sign a new contract. Now, he has been joined by names like Wesley Sneijder in the refusal to train. There have been calls for manager Igor Tudor to be sacked, despite having been appointed only a few months ago. The manager’s strict regime is thought to have made the player is extremely unhappy. Surprisingly, Bruma claimed only a few months ago that he would love to play for Jose Mourinho, who reportedly texted him saying that Bruma has a great opportunity of playing for the national team in the next of years if he manages to sustain his current progress. His agent said:

“Southampton and Leicester City have registered an interest and we have held talks. Bruma is keen on the Premier League and we will be holding further talks next month.”

A number of Premier league clubs have been monitoring the availability of Bruma. Tottenham and Manchester United are thought to be heading the race for the player. A few weeks ago, it was reported (ESPN) that Tottenham had moved closer towards securing a deal for the 24-year-old winger, but it has yet to be finalised. United remain aware of the developments, but are expected to make a move only in the summer when things become much more focused on the transfer market rather than the end of season games.

Galatasaray also were subjected to a banned from playing in the Champions League due to financial issues. The club are fourth in the Turkish league table with a 13 point deficit to the top of the table. After having won an incredible 20 league titles in their history, it is a strange situation for Galatasaray. The club are expected to undergo a major revamp in the summer in terms of the playing squad.

Bruma has been a key player for Galatasaray this season after managing to score 10 goals in his 26 league appearances for the club.
