Manchester United are the best team in the world- everyone knows it, but how much do you know about their best players of all time? Here we give you our top 10 list best Man-U players in the history of the club.
- Cristiano Ronaldo- the Portuguese powerhouse is now one of international footballs biggest and most well-known names and was responsible for Man-U taking the 2008 Champions league crown before signing with Real Madrid for a previously unheard of £80 million.
- Wayne Rooney- whilst he may receive a lot of attention for his somewhat unfortunate appearance and his antics in his personal life- there is absolutely no doubt that Rooney is one of the best players United have ever had. With over 250 goals during his career, he is close to beating the record holder Bobby Charlton-watch this space!
- “Ooh Ahh Cantona”- the world-famous French player Eric Cantona comes in at number 8 and was as popular off the field as he was on it. Spending five years at Old Trafford he helped the team to numerous victories and helped cement their place as one of the most dominant teams of the 90’s.
- George Best- if you don’t remember him then ask your mum! This vintage player scored an impressive 179 goals over 470 games and due to this, he acquired the name “El Beatle”. He now has a firm place in the history books and is a part of the infamous “holy trinity” comprising of him, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton.
- Duncan Edwards- considered by many as one of the best players the club has ever, ever seen- his career was tragically cut short at the age of 21 as he was involved in a horrific air disaster in Munich.
- Roy Keane- Mr Keane spent 12 long years at United and eight of those as captain and leader of the team during one of their most successful periods.
- Denis Law- mentioned earlier on, “The King” scored and impressive 237 goals in just over 400 appearances.
- Paul Scholes- Scholsey is regarded as the most proficient midfielders in generations and despite an absence in 2012, he made a storming comeback in 2012 after 6 months of retirement.
- Bobby Charlton- this player is probably one of the most famous and iconic players to have ever walked the earth. With an impressive 249 goals over his entire career he has gone down in history as one of the famous players of all time.
- Giggsy- Ryan Giggs is the most successful footballer in British history. During his long career, he has won pretty much every award and honour you could possibly imagine and created records and world records that still remain unchallenged.
