This is the week football ate itself.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 23, 2017
Claudio Ranieri sacked! Unfortunate news I think! Wonder how I’d feel if I was a Leicester player right now. Could I have done more
— Ian Wright (@IanWright0) February 23, 2017
The news surely has taken everyone aback. The question needs to be raised if it indeed was the right decision to sack Ranieri or not. To this, the answer would surely be a ‘No’. Leicester’s league triumph was historic and rare. It hardly happens in football. It was a miracle. Yet, with 13 games left in the season, does the club’s board believe the club won’t survive relegation fight? They are still fighting in the Champions League!
The sacking surely has come at the wrong time and the Italian does not deserve the kind of treatment he has got from Leicester.
However, kudos to the Manchester United boss for being the classy human being that he always has been. The pair have had a war of words in the past, but still, Mourinho has reacted in an extremely classy way.
Shout out to Jose ‘The Special One’ Mourinho!
