Galatasaray winger Bruma has been the centre of attention for several clubs like PSV Eindhoven, Tottenham, and Manchester United. As the clubs prepare for a January bid for the player, Galatasaray have reportedly told Bruma that he is about to become the club’s most important player. In a desperate bid to keep him, the club are keen on making him feel important despite the club’s current struggles in the top flight. Since winning the title in the 2014-15 season under Hamza Hamzaoglu, the Turkish outfit have regressed considerably.

They could only manage a sixth place finish last season and are without any form of European football in the current campaign as a result of it. It is a difficult situation for the club, but one that they are trying to tide away with the presence of players like Bruma.

One of the best signings made by Galatasaray in recent years, he moved to the club in the summer of 2013 for around €10 million. The club now reportedly valued him at around €25 million back in August, which represented a substantial return on their investment. Galatasaray’s valuations were not surprising considering that Bruma has pretty much been one of their best players. He managed six assists and three goals in his first season at the club, while he is already on course to doubling the record this campaign.

Bruma has three assists and four goals in just 10 games this season and even though Galatasaray are six points from the top, their position could have been significantly worse without a player like Bruma.

United continue to be linked with many top players across European football, as they try to rediscover the league winning form that made the club a force to reckon with under the regime of Sir Alex Ferguson. And according to the reports from the Sun, Jose Mourinho is ready to cash-in £8million for the 22-year-old attacker.

Not too long ago, Jose Mourinho reportedly praised Bruma after his contributions in the 5-2 win for United in the pre-season friendly game. Bruma scored one of the goals in that game, and he later confirmed that the personal praise from the Portuguese manager. According to ESPN, Bruma said:

“He [Mourinho] congratulated me for the performance and said he was impressed with me. He promised to closely monitor my work and said I could play for the national team soon.

“Of course it was amazing to hear this from Mourinho and he said he will keep an eye on how I do this season.”

Bruma’s agent Marko Kirdemir recently revealed that there has been continued interest from Premier League clubs in the 22-year-old. Everton are understood to have been one of the clubs that tried to sign him back in 2014. His agent has confirmed that Bruma wants to play in the Premier League and it may be only a matter of time before Galatasaray concede defeat in their efforts to retain the winger.

It is highly possible that United may make a move for Bruma while offering Memphis Depay, who is out of favour, as a sweetener which could significantly reduce his transfer fees. Spurs and PSV, though, are clubs that represent a significant threat for United.
